BURLINGTON JUNCTION, Mo. - Charges have been filed after Nodaway County Deputies conducted an illegal drug investigation.
The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office says deputies searched a residence in Burlington Junction last Friday, finding drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and firearms in possession of a convicted felon. Two children in the home were taken into protective custody.
Three charges were filed against 51-year-old Byron "Drifty" Merriett, including one count of delivery of a controlled substance, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm while in possession of methamphetamine.
One charge was filed against 25-year-old Philip Merriett, one count of delivery of a controlled substance. Both men are currently in custody at the Nodaway County Jail.
